On November 10-15, 2015 at the Parasport Development Centre of Tbilisi, the Centre organized the “Tbilisi Parasport Week”, which was funded by the Tbilisi City Hall. In “Tbilisi Parasport Week” among the participants were the parasportsmen from the Parasport Development Centre of Tbilisi,

Ministry of Defense ISAF’s (International Security Assistance Force) mission wounded soldiers and various sports federations’ athletes.

The competitions were been held in the following disciplines: sitting volleyball, wheelchair fencing, paraarchery, paratennis, paratabletenis, paraarmwrestling, amputee football, blind football and parabodibuilding. The winners sportsmen were awarded with diplomas, medals and cups.

“Tbilisi Parasport Week” was held for the first time and has set a goal to implement such events regularly.

The aim of the “Tbilisi Parasport Week” is the promotion of the Parasport and the active involvement of the people with disabilities in sport.
